The 2011 Trip
Part 52 – We enjoyed another sunny day

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

Karen is teaching a quilting course on making a Jelly Roll Quilt and Joan is taking the course. They were off to school at 8:45 AM.

There was not a cloud in the sky this morning. The weather is simply beautiful and no wonder people simply come here from home each year. They actually compare notes with each other on how long it takes them to drive from home to here and back again. Three days from Manitoba and three and a half days from here to Kingston, Ontario. One thing is for certain they see little between the two places and do not smell the roses along the way. They also have little interest in going anywhere else. We enjoy the drive and like to look around as we go. It was so darn cold this trip we did not spend the time looking that we wanted and planned.

Joan was home from quilting school at 12:15 PM and after lunch we went to the office and paid our electricity, sewer, water and trash bill. We spent another afternoon enjoying the sunny warm weather. We paid our trash bill but still make the evening trip to the dumpster. We enjoy the walk and it was a beautiful moonlit evening this evening.

That was the day and another day well spent and enjoyable. One could say it was an Artie Bender day. Artie was the landscape painter on the old “Dukes of Hazzard” TV program. Artie simply sat around enjoying the only thing he could afford. A sunny day.
